Permanent observation

Solutions for detection and prevention

To detect earthquakes and tremors of natural origin, STANEO deploys permanent stations that record multiple parameters via a wide variety of sensors: active seismometers (broadband), passive seismometers (geophones), accelerometers, gyroscopes, micro-barometers, magnetometers, thermometers, air composition measurements, etc.
The data from these boxes is centralised continuously and in real time on a hub that aggregates it. STANEO ensures the durability of the equipment deployed, taking into account the particular conditions of the site (keraunic risk in particular). The transmission systems can be doubled. A permanent diagnostic tool is available to the operator.

Underground network

Fifteen permanent stations in the galleries, recording signals from a wide variety of sensors: active seismometers (broadband), passive seismometers (geophones), accelerometers, gyroscopes, micro-barometers, magnetometers, thermometers, barometers and various other environmental measurements (CO2, O2, humidity, etc.) The data is centralised continuously and in real time on a SEEDLink hub. The same hub also aggregates the data from the surface network, which is brought back monthly on USB keys.

Context

Multiparameter geophysical measurements underground

Challenges

To ensure data dating, and to protect equipment against induced power surges in a very high keraunic region.

Solutions

Transmission of information from a GPS installed at the entrance of the laboratory to the gallery installations by optical fibres and installation of storm detectors ensuring the galvanic disconnection of the long conductive lines in case of a storm (mains supply and final approach of the GPS signals). Close collaboration with the laboratory staff for the implementation of the most suitable and economical hardware and software solutions.

Context

Multiparameter geophysical measurements, streaming via various transmission systems (LAN, ADSL, Satellite, 3/4G ...)

Challenges

To provide the operator with geophysical data but also a precise and complete diagnosis of the equipment, with a main transmission medium and possibly a backup by SMS.

Solutions

A few dozen stations (6, 9 or 24 channels) in various regional networks RESIF, RSSP, RAP, integrated in cabinets by STANEO or by the engineers of the operator networks, connected via ADSL, satellite, 3/4G gateways. In all cases, the equipment can be monitored in NAGIOS type systems, whether the digitisers are accessible online or via a VPN or even when only SMS can be used for routine communication.
